Otago Peninsula
Hello blog!
So you’re probably wondering what I’ve been up to during the past week because we no longer have lectures to attend and I was planning on being in Bali during this time….so….I can tell you this: I’ve been quite lazy. I usually wake up around 10am and eat breakfast, sometimes I’ll go to the gym or I’ll do some baking because its usually raining outside. It’s been quite a relaxing couple of days. Especially since Grace has been gone and most people are busy studying for exams, I’ve just been hanging out!
On Saturday, however, it was a beautiful spring day and me and my flatmates decided we wanted to spend our afternoon outside. Me, Nicky and Sara ventured out to the Otago Peninsula, which is only a 20 minute drive from campus and we did some short hikes along the coast. It was gorgeous! When Dunedin decides to give us a sunny day, boy is it beautiful. The sunny and cloudless days are few and far between, but when you get one, you learn to appreciate its every moment.
The three of us spent all afternoon wandering around the peninsula, walking through farmland and enjoying the sunshine. On our way home, we stopped at the grocery store for dinner supplies and I bought ingredients to make my new favorite quinoa bake. It consists of quinoa, red peppers, red onions, green olives, lemon juice, and feta cheese. Me and my flatmate Anouk split the costs and shared the bake for dinner. After dinner, we all sat down to watch the second season of our favorite show: The Hook-up Plan. The Hook-up Plan is a french television show that we are all obsessed with, and they just came out with season 2! Cant wait!
